Ellie Jane Goulding is a British citizen born on the 30th of December 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers employed as a supermarket clerk and Arthur Goulding, the father of Ellie Jane's Goulding was an undertaker. Goulding is the second of three children and has a brother named Alex as well as an older sister called Isabel and a younger sister called Jordan. Alex Goulding's younger brother is a bass player. Goulding is also an Hereford musician. Her mother inspired her to study the instrument as a young child. She started learning the clarinet at the age of nine. At the age of 14 She began writing lyrics. However, she didn't get committed to songwriting until she entered college. Goulding's passion for electronica music began while she was in the process of completing her college master's degree. Her interest in electronic music started as she was studying. Through MySpace Goulding came into contacts with Frankmusik. He helped her in creating a folktronica style of music. The singer was discovered at this time by scout Jamie Lillywhite, who initially served as her manager before transitioning to the position of A.&R. in a college talent competition. Lillywhite was then able to introduce her music producer Starsmith who helped her publish her debut song under the Sheets on November 15th, 2009. The next album he worked on was her album Lights. It didn't matter that under the Sheets was released by Neon Gold Records (an indie label) and she had signed a contract with Polydor Records.
